EDMONTON -- A body found Sunday near Redwater on Sunday is that of missing soldier Richard Curnow.
Curnow, 25, disappeared on the morning of May 5 while jogging along the North Saskatchewan River near Emily Murphy Park. Police, military, and Edmonton Fire Rescue crews searched for two days, while family and friends kept an ongoing search alive.
Police have deemed the death as non-criminal and will not be releasing the cause of death.
Redwater is northeast of Edmonton. The North Saskatchewan River runs through the area but police didn’t say if his body was found in the river.

Here are our guidelines:
We do not have any structure and we never will. This means no membership
cards and no annual fee. This group was created so members may find old
friends, stay in touch and share but mostly to ensure that we never forget our
fellow brothers and sisters at arms who have either been wounded or have
fallen in combat during a mission.
We will be having one official meeting each year. Participation is not mandatory
We are a group active and former military who have served a minimum of one
mission under the command of the UN or NATO. Germany and Alert are accepted
as a mission.
A mission is considered a mission only after a medal is awarded. We will wear our
colours with pride because they represent who we are.
No criminal affiliation will be accepted, no (MC) or 1% patch will be part of our colours.
Even though 8 out of 10 members own a motorcycle, we are not a motorcycle club
(MC), nor an association.
The members of the Veteran UN-NATO Canada group identify themselves and to the
population by the means of their colours (patch). The colours belong and will only be worn
by the member as they are a personal identification. We must never forget that when we
wear the colours, we agree to represent a whole group of brothers and sisters. No
irresponsible behaviour will be tolerated when wearing your colours. Be proud and respectful.
"THE VETERANS UN-NATO CANADA GROUP IS NOT IN ANY WAY AFFILIATED WITH THE
